This week's challenge at Frilly and Funkie, hosted by our very talented Cec, is:
THINGS WITH WINGS
"Use anything with wings as the focal point on your vintage or shabby chic projects this time. Be it of the animal, fantasy or mechanical variety we want your creativity to take flight!"
"Use anything with wings as the focal point on your vintage or shabby chic projects this time. Be it of the animal, fantasy or mechanical variety we want your creativity to take flight!"
Now firstly, I have to point out, my original plan was a vision of a glorious masterpiece, which I think from the start was doomed. So, at the last minute I created something else and quite CAS for me. However, they will come in handy as gift tags :)
I finally got round to using the incredibly gorgeous Tim Holtz Wallflower paper stack! The butterflies/moths came from his Emphera Pack and fussy cut from the 12 x 12 stack. Using the large tags die, I cut two lots from from the stack and four plain white card tags. One to shabby up and one to place on the back after it was all finished.
Good old useful Distress Marker in Vintage Photo to the rescue to distress around the edges of the butterflies/moths and of course the word bands to add a little something extra with cream twine.
Again, I'm sorry I have to run - you know what's so I shan't bore you with it... But we should be half way there now - yay!
Huge hugs
Gee xx
Ah the masterpiece that went wrong... I so know that feeling! But heh Georgie your tags are amazing. Love the shadow effects and the shabby layered feel. Nikki xx
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to see how you still get the feeling of dimension onto these gorgeous tags even though they can lay flat. Jenny x
ReplyDeleteYour tags are fabulous. I love the color and butterflies always makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning tags Georgie!!! If the tags were just something simple, oh boy, I wonder what that other imagined project would have looked like!!! You need to give it another try and bring loads of joy to this world!!! I always love to see your creations from CAS to super elaborate (like that if Finnabair made shoes) projects :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day my dear!!!

ReplyDeleteWell, Georgie, I don't think I've ever had a masterpiece go right! But these 2 tags ARE masterpieces in my book, and I love this CAS look; so different from your usual, but in everyway beautiful! As all the previous commenters noted, your added shadow to the butterflies just make those babies pop right off their background! Love the look, sweetie! Hugs! And my sincere apologies for not being around...not getting much computer or craft time! And less upcoming:(
