'This Way' LO - Prima June BAP Challenge

Prima's June BAP looked so inspiring and I thought it was about time I got back into a Prima Challenge so here I am!

A quickie close up :)

My layout:

I never really seem to scrap my pups so I thought this time a page will be dedicated to them! To me, they are just the cutest boys ever!! But we all think that about our own, right? ;)

Again like my last page this isn't exactly how I had pictured it before I started but in the end I just went with the flow. And.... yep... I know.... I have boy pups but with being very outnumbered in my house,  4-1, I wanted to go girly and as they can't argue... well you can see where I was going with this!! hehe  - Flower Power!!!

Here is the gorgeous sketch:

I just loved the rings and the moment of this and felt a little inspired to do something :)

Frilly and Funkie - It's Summer Challenge

Hi Folks,

Today over at Frilly and Funkie is the start of a new challenge, and this time the theme is:

IT'S SUMMER!

I stuck with a similar theme to my Spring Time tag, as the start of every season is just full of so much potential. Your mood lifts, the world just feels like it just needs exploring and being outdoors amongst the flowers is just what it is all about!
I'm keeping my posts short at the moment -sorry no step by steps etc- I'm having to plan a build and a kitchen, design ideas, layouts, colour schemes, dealing with builders, clueing out old junk... as well as the normal, being a mum, working... So please bear with me, but the good news is that once this is all done I will have a space that will be completely my own for art and I will be set up for videos and sxs images! Cannot wait!!

Anyway here are some close ups :)

Have a wicked Wednesday,
See you tomorrow with another post
Hugs

Mixed Media World - Challenge #3

Hello one and all!

And a huge welcome to my lovely new followers, so great you can join me here :) hugs and of course big hugs for those who continue to put up with me lol

This month at Mixed Media World the theme is:

MASCULINE / FATHERS DAY

So this month I decided to do a little gift box for my son to give to his grandfather, you would not believe what it is going to hold... A whoopee cushion, of all things! Boys eh?!!! Gotta love 'em though!

Anyway here it is:

Considering it's content I was aiming for the skull and crossbones from Tim Holtz but they didn't turn up in time.

I made this using a box blank from Hobby Craft, layered in Art Basics Black Gesso, then embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder in patches to creates the raised gold areas. I use Art Basics Black Sand Texture Paste to create the 'sparkly area around the crown.

This was paint with DecoArt paints and then their Antiquing Cream was used to create additional depth to the piece.

I applied a glaze to the crown after all the painting so it had a slight gloss appearance. Then finally hitting the raised areas with Treasure Gold White Fire.

Come and stop by our challenge this month, we love having you!

Hope you're enjoying your weekend

Anything But Cute - Make It Masculine - Challenge #2

Hallo! :)

Ready for challenge #2 at Anything But Cute? We sure are and wow what a month, thank you everyone for playing along - so many beautiful entries!!

Sorry this is going to be such a quickest post. If you have any questions regarding products do ask and I will reply here. We're about a week away from having the builders in to knock down our kitchen and build a new one so it's Crazy-City here :)

This month the theme is:

MAKE IT MASCULINE
Make a mixed media card or other project for a fellow in your life.  It could be for Father's Day, a birthday, an anniversary or just because you want him to know how special he is.

I've done a mini 3D canvas theism month.

I used DIY 'left overs', mainly from IKEA and I had sooo much fun with this piece! My little man was helping pass me bits and bobs from my box of DIY 'junk' :) 'Mummy use this, what about this Mummy?' I swear this thing was about to turn into a Lego tower.

Scrummy Tim Holtz embellishments and I chose the Muse Token 'Courageous' as that is how my son sees his father, he looks up to him so much, to him he is the bravest person in the world!

I used micro beads to add extra interest, and loads of gorgeous DecoArt Media paints. They are so pigmented and you don't need a lot of colour with these at all.

Going 'off-piste'! :) Love going off the page to create extra interest.

I used Treasure Gold White Fire to create to highlight and accent. Hope you like and hope you feel inspired to try something like this. I feel a slight addiction to these 4x4" canvases :)

Hope you get the chance to play at Anything But Cute.

*** Sorry for the mix match of photos - Google Photos is playing havoc with my upload, but big thanks to Pamellia of My Little Craft Things (you are such a gem :) ) for helping get the photos to match as close as possible to real life, they are the deeper toned ones. Rich deep brown, reddy colour!

Have a lovely lovely day, and YAAAAAYYYYYYY! It's Friday - Whoop whoop!!

Frilly and Funkie - Monochromatic Challenge

Today over at Frilly and Funkie it is time for a new challenge, and this week was Cec's choice with

MONOCHROMATIC

'I want to see a shabby chic and vintage project that uses basically one colour and its various hues and tones - a little white or cream can be added but unless that is the main colour, it needs to be just an accent.'

I decided to do a shabby chic artsy style tag blue/teal/turquoise colours:

I did very much enjoy this challenge and I had a brilliant time with my Magicals. All I did was drop some of the powder here and there, roughly where I wanted colour (no exact science to this) and then just sprayed with water - what fun!!! I loved watching the colours dance across the tag, swim into the curves and drip down. It really is an easy way to achieve a natural 'paint job'.

I used all the blues from the following sets:

Nantucket Pearls - Whale Watch Blue
Industrial Chic - Time Travel Teal and Shabby Turbine Teal
Under The Boardwalk - Tilt-A-Wheel Teal

I found with a couple of them that they have hints of other colours in their mica, for instance in the pic above there appeared this greenish hue! Very pretty though :)

Here's some close ups:

The lace, from the Venice Lace, I cut into sections and pulled to create a tattered effect.

Of course, some pretty Tim Holtz Heirloom Roses, now who doesn't love these?! They are so pretty! They got the Tumbled Glass Distress Paint treatment :)

Hope y'all having a lovely week,
Hugs
Georgie xx
