Spring Time Tag - Frilly and Funkie

Hello dear friends!

So lovely you could stop by today :)

Today I'm sharing with you a Spring tag for our challenge over at Frilly & Funkie, Spring Time-Die Cuts.

I used some gorgeeeeee-ous Maja Design papers from the Summer Basics Collection. I cut them using the Tim Holtz Tags and Bookplates. When using 6x6 papers your overall tag size will be about 1cm shorter than the standard size 8 tag.

Once I stitched the edges on two layers, and a little Victorian Velvet Distress Ink applied, I then set to work on the design.

I used a Kaisercraft key, gave it one coat of gesso and embossed with Lindy's Embossing Powder Nantucket Pearls, first with the green and then the gold colour. Then to hide any gesso that goes over the sides I just use the Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Marker. Then I layered it on top of some beautiful baby pink May Arts Crochet Lace. I gave this a coat of gesso to add further depth.

The flowers were from my stash, given a coat of gesso, then some lovely Lindy's Sprays from the Nantucket Pearls collection. These are just the perfect set of soft neutrals! The leaves were cut using the new Sizzix Precision platform, so glad I finally got my hands on one!!
The leaves were embossed with Lindy's Nantucket Pearls Embossing Powder to give them a soft sheen.

The matching Nantucket Pearls Magicals were used to shade around the flower bundle. In some areas I went over the top of the 'shadow' with I some Rock Candy Distress Stickles and some Victorian Velvet Dry Distress Glitter.

The sentiment is from the new Tim Holtz Idea-ology Small Talk stickers, which I love! I also have the Big Chat which I also LOVE, but not had a chance to use yet (sigh)!! :) I chose this Small Talk one as Spring feels amazing... the days are getting lighter, and you can feel the potential of a fantastic summer just around the corner, but the possibilities start today!!

Have a beautiful day

  10. Stunning! I have a question. On my phone, it looks lilac, lavender-ish. Is that right? Or is it pink IRL? Anyway, it is beautifully shabby. I love it!

    1. Hi Marci, the top flowers are lavender/lilac, the underneath paper is the same but the Maja Design paper the roses are pinks/greys (which may come across lavender because of the grey in them to shade). The paint used to shade under and around is the pink from Lindy's Nantucket Pearls but because it's under shadow it's a touch darker, but it does look pink on my screen. Hope that helps xx
