Frilly and Funkie Challenge - Happy, Happy, HAPPY!!

Howdy :)

So over at Frilly and Funkie this time it is my turn to host the challenge and YIKES - never done this before. So when choosing the theme, because I was on a (natural (just in case)) high, this was what I came up with:

Happy, Happy, HAPPY!!!

Yeah... I'd just been asked to stay on full time as a DT when I chose this theme (back in Feb :) ) so I was immensely happy and it kind of transferred into the theme lol.

It's probably no surprise to most of you that my son makes me incredibly happy, and so does being arty. When combining the two, it's just so lovely!! I get to rummage through all the baby photos, again :) reminisce and have that good old wander down memory lane. Then putting it into a scrapbook page is just so much fun!

The pic is of my son at about 6 months old, and he had such a vintage, old soul look about him. His hair would naturally part (people thought I did that intentionally to him!!) so he looked like this little (hmm, no - big) 1920s baby. I love this pic and we have a big version of it still up in his bedroom, probably soon to be replaced by Paw Patrol or Peppa Pig!!
I did a lot of stitching around the page to start with and I just love these Maja Design papers too. I lightly stamped, inked and stencilled once the stitching was finished. From here I just built up those layers

These little hearts are just the cutest and I don't know why I waited so long to get them, they are just the perfect little accent! So many sentiment choices too. The wood chip is from Kaiserkraft, which has been gesso'd and inked with Weathered Wood Distress Ink and embossed with Lindy's Embossing Powder.

So these flowers are just amazing, I love how they take inks and paints. I used Weathered Wood and Picket Fence Distress Stains, and that texture of the lace just sings through.

Ahh Chit Chat stickers... Okay who else spends forever looking at them dreaming up beautiful moving sentences? I'm always peering through and doing this :) I chose these words because my sons name means 'laughter' and he certainly lives up to that meaning. He is a very happy child and is always making me smile with his gorgeous laugh, and he makes our world a beautiful place to be (aww - I've gone smooshy) :)

On that happy note I will leave you here, please check out my other talented teamies at Frilly and Funkie.

Hugs
Georgie xx
