Frilly and Funkie - Stamps Be Gone

Hiya!

----
Almost back in the land of blog! Very very soon I should be back round to visit everyone again and catch up on commenting where  I can! All I can say is a huge thank you to those who have been to still visit me when I haven't been to see you. But soon... :) Plus I will do a post with pics so you can see what all the drama is about!
----

Anyhoo - on with our new challenge over at Frilly and Funkie. Our hostess this time is the lovely and incredibly talented Pamellia! She has chosen the theme:

STAMPS BE GONE

"How would you decorate your project if you didn't own any stamps? Embossing folders, stencils, or perhaps a little hand doodling? Well, let's put it to the test for this challenge. Other than a small sentiment, I would ask that you use no stamps at all on your vintage or shabby chic creations."

I chose a little mixed media shabby chic tag, with some gorgeous rose glass domes from Linda's shop, The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Learning from mistakes as we should in art, is that I need a bit more texture paste for the look I wanted. I wanted the domes to be set into the paste, which don't get me wrong they were, but not quite as encased as I would have liked - lol!

Instead of using stamps to create some extra, faded interest in the background I used Tim Holtz Remnant Rubs. The shimmery background was the ever so gorgeous Lindy Sprays, using Nantucket Pearls in the pink and green from the pack.

I used a mini Prima Resin Frame here to make the centre cluster of roses stand out and appear a little more ornate.

The whole tag, and the frame got a coat of Viva Gold in Old Silver. Just very lightly on the tag and around the edges and the frame had a solid colour of it.

So, again, another quickie from me, but yikes I cannot wait to get back to you arty lot, I've really missed you and your posts and the energy you bring. The time away has really made me realise just how much this world means to me and the people in it. Everyone has something valuable to give when they write their posts and even more, through the beautiful work they have created and are willing to share.

Gonna get soppy, so I'm stopping here.
Love to you all
Georgie xx

  2. Beautiful tag! And so much fun using NO stamps! I know the feeling about not getting the domes in the texture paste as you wanted (I had the same problem with my beads in crackle paste...) but I still love the result! Gorgeous domes by the way!

  3. Oh, this just reminds me of the chic country china my parents used to have. That marbled blue and the rosy pink - so lovely! As for the rest of us, you take care of you and we'll still come to marvel at the talent over here!

  10. So pretty, Georgie - those lovely rose domes get to shine on your gently shabby chic tag. So glad to hear that you're almost done with all the works, and looking forward to seeing some pictures - I'm sure it's all been worth it.
