MONOCHROMATIC
'I want to see a shabby chic and vintage project that uses basically one colour and its various hues and tones - a little white or cream can be added but unless that is the main colour, it needs to be just an accent.'
I decided to do a shabby chic artsy style tag blue/teal/turquoise colours:
I did very much enjoy this challenge and I had a brilliant time with my Magicals. All I did was drop some of the powder here and there, roughly where I wanted colour (no exact science to this) and then just sprayed with water - what fun!!! I loved watching the colours dance across the tag, swim into the curves and drip down. It really is an easy way to achieve a natural 'paint job'.
I used all the blues from the following sets:
Nantucket Pearls - Whale Watch Blue
Industrial Chic - Time Travel Teal and Shabby Turbine Teal
Under The Boardwalk - Tilt-A-Wheel Teal
I found with a couple of them that they have hints of other colours in their mica, for instance in the pic above there appeared this greenish hue! Very pretty though :)
Here's some close ups:
The lace, from the Venice Lace, I cut into sections and pulled to create a tattered effect.
Of course, some pretty Tim Holtz Heirloom Roses, now who doesn't love these?! They are so pretty! They got the Tumbled Glass Distress Paint treatment :)
