Hiya!
I'm back again with another mixed media piece. Over at Mixed Media World we have a gorgeous new challenge:
*** Under the Sea ***
The sponsor this month is That's Crafty with a £20 gift voucher!!
Here is my take on the challenge :)
A portrait of an ancient, under sea water world lost in time! Atlantis, maybe...
There is so much in this little concoction...
Metal Starfish (from Linda's Funkie Junkie Boutique), Art Stones from Prima - I just LOVE these, the texture they give, especially for 'sea; themes, they way paint travels around them - STUNNING!!
The bright white specks, can you guess what that is? It's just a sprinkle of embossing powder over a bit of wet medium, be it gesso, gels etc. It stands out so well, and creates a sort of sea foam effect.
The pearls are from my stash, but I went with a soft, fleshy pink colour instead of white as it looked more natural.
The statue figure is from Prima's new IOD moulds range. Painted with Art Alchemy as well as mica powders and sprays. I think I used nearly everything going - Prima Colour Blooms, Lindys, Izinks...
Some gorgeous Dusty Attic chippie sets the background for this magical under water world, laid on top of laces and stencils.
That's me for today, hope you get a chance to play along with us over at MMW, we always love seeing your entries!!
Love and hugs
Georgie

I'd like to enter this in the Dusty Attic challenge for the July challenge:
Stunning! It looks like some old treasure that has been buried at sea and has just been brought up out of the depths. Love it!
ReplyDeleteAmazing tag, Georgie!!
ReplyDeleteGeorgie, this is most exquisite! A perfect underwater creation, every detail works beautifully! Thanks for the much needed inspiration, this month everything is beach themed, something I quite struggle with. Hugs, Autumn
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning my friend! I love the textures and colors!
ReplyDeleteWow!! This is beyond gorgeous, Georgie! Every detail is perfectly executed. It looks like something they'd have found buried deep under the sea inside the Titanic. It's both beautiful and haunting at the same time. I am in awe of you!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Nancy
Gorgeous textural piece and the colours are perfect for the theme. Very eye catching. Tracy x
