Gothic Butterfly

Good morning, and what a lovely one it is too :)

I absolutely love nothing more then getting my hands dirty in a mixed media project, and here my latest creative piece.

It felt good to do something like this again after my scrapbook pages.

The butterfly is a Prima resin dressed up in PaperArtsy paint French Roast and then the raised areas are highlighted in Treasure Gold Pewter and Rose Quartz.

The background consists of (to keep it quick and simple):

Tim Holtz Flourishes die cuts
Hot glue dripped down the piece
Prima Bloom Sprays (blue and lilac)
Viva Ferro Paste - Green Gold
Embossing powder - Black and gold
Treasure Gold - Pewter

For the backing I just mounted the piece on back card twice, but embossed the first layer in a clear powder, with a crackle effect stamp. Then I used the Tim Holtz Easel to stand it up.

I quite like this gothic look, so I will experiment some more with this style and really can't wait to go again... :)
