Art Journal Page - Close Your Eyes...

... Open Your Mind :)

Let me start off by saying I had great fun with this page, with the colours and the layering. I love experimenting with different styles in my art journal and it is fast becoming my favourite 'place to be'.

I'm Guest Designing this week again for Not Just Card Challenges, the theme here for every challenge, every week, is Anything Goes. So whatever you've made this week you can show it off here :)

This lovely image came from Digital Stamps For Joy

I played with my Distress Paints again for this page - I do LURVE them, loads! Letraset markers were used on her, but I have a set of 72 Copics on the way (courtesy if the Amazon mega sale they had recently) and I cannot wait for them to turn up.

The background stencil is by Prima, the 6x6 size, and I used White Picket Distress Paint to create that beautiful pattern.

I wanted to make it look as if light was filtering through on to her, with the flowers floating in the background being part of her open mind. I do have such a weakness for blues and greens together.
Why the saying blue and green should never be seen is completely beyond me, it's one of the most fabulous combos!

Once the page was complete, I used Distress Ink in Vintage Photo to go around the edges to draw the eye in.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and that you can find some inspiration amongst the wonderfulness of the Design Team at Not Just Cards Challenges.

    1. Hi Sara, Thank you so much for your lovely comments. Congrats on getting a favourite spot at Craft Hoarders too, you must be on a roll! I do love that die and if I was in America I would snap it up in a sale, but I don't often see it over here discounted. It's still a wish list item. For now I have my eye on some Prima dies - lol! The list never ends, right?!!

Hope you had a lovely Christmas too, and I'll be stopping by your blog in the new year sometime soon xxx
