I Dream In Colour - Scrapbook Page

A big hello out there to the lovely bloggers of blogland!!

Ah... phew........ the end of the week and a weekend in front of us, what are we to do with ourselves...? Hmmm, like that requires a lot of thought, right? :)

How I love Lindy Sprays (insert drool here) and because I have (ahem - quite) a few of them, I'd like to start making use of them in the challenges over at Lindy's Stamp Gang Blog. After all they must earn their keep!!

I managed one project last month and so glad I got round to finishing my project for this month. The Design Team over there are incredibly talented and do such an amazing display of wonderful 'craftiness' with their sprays and paints. Please go and check them out, there is inspiration galore there!!

Here is my take using their colour board:

It's very rare that I will ever do a scrap-selfie, in fact this is my first completely on my own without a baby to distract from me!!!

I chose the saying 'I dream in colour' and the black & white picture to contrast the rest of the page. In everyday life out of blogland, people don't really know me or about my passion for paints and all things arty. I keep a lot of that to myself, which is why you'll rarely see anything on FB from me. So the picture is me at face value but the 'mess' on the page is my bubble, my world in blogland, in my 'messy' room - this feels like the real me, rather than the one I have to be at work or anywhere else.
(not sure why blogger can't align this para - tut) :)

Some close ups:

I used some random stamps from Tim Holtz (stars, Paris, NewYork, London, a swirly one :) and a numbers one - am I being hopeless?? - yep I think so!!) for the background and his Flourish stencil with white modelling paste in random areas for extra texture. I then hit these areas lightly with black archival
ink in patches too.

I used paper to build up layers at the start, but wanted to accentuate this further after the painting. So I used my Faber Castell Big Pitt Marker to go over the over laps, this in turn deepened the colour of the overall feel of the page, which I love!! Seriously recommend having one of these pens in your stash!!!

As always the Lindy's sprays were a dream (see what I did there) to work with, they mix beautifully and the magicals are the easiest thing ever to use, sprinkle on the page and spray with water. They really make painting and creating backgrounds super easy!

I used the following Lindy Sprays and Magicals in this layout:

Hope you 'survived' this and sorry it's a heavy post. I did try to keep it mainly to photos - bad Georgie - will try harder next time :)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone,
Hugs
Georgie xx

  7. You are fabulous to read, Georgie, so don't ever apologize for sharing your thoughts as well as your incredibly arty and stunning work! To me, your art shows that you think deeply about your designs and you care very much that they reflect who you are. Doing this piece in rich and vibrant colors, with all the exquisite detailing, against the stark b/w portrait is just what I'm talking about. I can't wait to see how you grow and get more confident as you share your innovative creations!! Have a great weekend! Hugs, Darnell
