Just Because...

Hello and welcome to my post today. :) And a huge warm welcome to my newest followers :) xx

I'm sharing a card I have made for Frilly and Funkie, I was so over-the-moon happy when they asked me to step in and guest design for their team for awhile. I felt very honoured indeed... They are the most lovely group of people and such a talented team!

Their challenge theme is Winter Blooms! Be it daisies, roses or carnations, dress your project with handmade flowers and start to coax a little spring back to the world.

Here is what I have made for inspiration on this theme:

I have designed a card ready to go at a moments notice for anything, hence the sentiment. I used loads of yummy goodies, most of which can be found at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. Loads of distressing and Tim Holtz papers went into this.

My flowers were made using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. I used heavyweight cartridge paper as I knew they would be taking on a lot of water for the shaping process. Here's a close up:

Here's a close up of the Prima Butterfly I used. I applied some paints and Clear Distress Glitter to add a textured 'vintage' feel.

Hope you like and if you're making some homemade flowers this month why not come over and say hi and enter this challenge... The winner is always picked at random, with a prize of a $25 gift voucher. Very generous!! :)

Have a wonderful day/afternoon/evening my lovely craft-happy blog-friends,
Hugs
Georgie xx

  4. What a gorgeous piece of shabby art! The color palette with the yellow and browns is lovely and your flowers are fantastic. Love the layer of tulle you added to them. The double layer of the circular die cut is a great touch too. Thanks so much, Georgie, for stepping in at such a short notice to fill our gap! So delighted to have you on board for a time.

    Hugs,

  5. Super fabulous shabby card. I love your blooms, especially with the pieces of tulle tucked in the layers. The colour palette and background paper is striking and I think the way you "shaded" the die cut circle is so clever. It is so nice to have you sharing your talent as a Guest Designer with us at Frilly and Funkie.
    Hugs!

Big hugs, Frilly and Funkie DT :)

The color palette is dreamy and the flowers look so soft and real and full of texture! I just need to know what the heck cartridge paper is???
