Shabby Chic - Gift Wrap and Tags - CGC (Pinkalicious)

The challenge this week over at Crafty Gals Corner is... Pinkalicious!!! Who doesn't love adding and splashing some pink into their projects. For me this was the perfect opportunity to go shabby chic, and I do love a bit of shabby :)

We have two sponsors this week so I have done two projects:

Gift Wrap using Elizabeth Bells digital image, Merry Weather

and...

I like to try and be a little inventive with digital images as there is so much you can do.... And for most of you that follow me you know my heart lies with mixed media, but I want to prove that you can combine the two!

Gift Wrap:
After I printed the paper and wrapped the pressie I could immediately see the design I wanted, especially with our pink theme this week. I wanted very soft hues, but textures. I made the main flower using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die (smallest flowers) and added some peridot chip beads to the centre. Other flowers were pre-made ones from eBay. Everything got a coat of gesso and then some Pink Grapefruit and Pretty Peridot Luminarte Silks paint.

I cut a couple of tags from Tim Holtz Tiny Tabs & Tags die. The first was coated with Victorian Velvet Distress Dry Glitter and the topped up with the matching ink. The top tag was given some more distress ink and I added a XOXO Tim Holtz Chit Chat sticker (love those things)!!

This will be a little gift for my mum on Vals Day :)

Tags:
I cut the tag using Tim Holtz Tiny Tabs & Tags die with the pretty paper, inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and then began some fun with some trinkets and seam binding. I used PaperArsty Chalk Paint in Rose to colour the metal charms, and then added a pink Swarovski heart charm.

The sponsors this week are:

Prize: The 2 digital images used by the DT.

AND

Prize: Full Key & Roses Digital Paper Pack

Hope you give this challenge a go!! Thank you for popping by and for all your lovely comments, I love reading them, they always make my day xx

  2. Two fantastic creations Georgie, totally agree that digital should be part of mixed media. Don't think most people realise that by generating their sentiments via a computer they are adding digi crafting to their repatoire.
