Mixed Media World - Vintage Challenge

Hi Everyone!!

Well it's time already for another challenge over at Mixed Media World Challenge Blog, I know right... where does the time go?!! This month the theme is:

VINTAGE

I went for shabby chic French style vintage as I love the old fancy lettering and romanticism of their soft colours, intertwined with flowers, oh, and of course... damask!!

I started out with a 4x4" deep edge frame (Love these!!) and just set to work. This was one of those projects where I just kept going until it felt right.

Big shout out to Becky of Crawsome Creations who gave me one of these gorgeous little Eiffel Towers, which got the gesso treatment so it could blend in with the rest of the piece. Some sparkly glitter hidden behind in the frame to add some extra interest.

I used the French script from Tim Holtz's Papillon set and randomly stamped in Archival Jet Black for contrast. For the touches of colour I used Lindy's Stamp Gang, Pink Ladies Pink for the soft feminine pinks, Whale Watch Blue for the blue/gray tones to blend in with the pink in areas (creates a gorgeous shade of a purpley grey and a light amount of Ocean Breeze Blue. Distress inked in places with Chipped Sapphire too.

Ahhh, the damask!! :) Courtesy of Tim Holtz again, from his stencil, with texture paste.

I'm quite stuck for time at the moment so hand made flowers became a must, but with some seriously heavy gesso and some clear dry glitter, then just touches of romantic soft pink to accent.

I do hope today's post has possibly inspired to play along and create something vintage for us. We love to see your work at Mixed Media World!!

Hugs
Georgie xx
